Metric Architecture

Metric Architecture is a Vancouver-based firm specializing in residential, commercial, and hospitality design. Known for our clear communication and no-nonsense approach, we deliver thoughtful, wellcrafted spaces that respect context and community. As density increases in desirable areas, architects and planners must respond with both sensitivity and innovation. We champion "missing middle" housing—townhouses, duplexes, and low-rise buildings between 4–6 storeys—that can integrate into established neighbourhoods while providing more affordable options for residents. We believe cities should grow without losing their identity. Metric has worked on heritage preservation projects in Vancouver’s historic districts, including Gastown and Chinatown. These projects reflect our commitment to protecting the character of existing communities while planning for the future. We believe good architecture speaks clearly, works hard, and respects its surroundings. Whether we’re designing a heritage restoration, a townhouse infill, or a boutique hospitality space, our goal is simple: design with purpose, communicate with clarity, and build with care.
